ReplyDeleteI would love to tat with beads, but don't know much about it.
"ENTER ME PLEASE"
ReplyDeleteI would love to try adding beads to my tatting. I know there are several ways of doing it, but I'm not sure what they all are. Do you know of any tutorials that show the different ways?
Thanks!
Teresa
there are a couple ways for you to do that, you can easily string them on your thread and use the bead in place of a picot. I will check with some other tatters to see if any want to do any tutorials on the use of beads in the tatting, you might check out some of the blogs like Gina at http://threadsofatattinggoddess.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteFox at http://www.tat-ology.com/
Jon at http://tatsaway.blogspot.com/
just to name a few. all are excellent tatters and part of the 25 motif challenge and use beads in their beautiful works. You can find several other wonderful works there also, I didn't disclude anyone on purpose, those were just 3 off the top of my head.
can the anonymous person who entered please re enter with a name or id to be used for the entry? otherwise the entry can not be counted, ty :)

ReplyDeleteI would love to win a sample of beads to try. I've only added beads on joins, and I think the beads I use are too large - would love to have a sample to see and try.

ENTER ME PLEASE
ReplyDeleteI haven't used any beads in tatting yet, but for the past couple months I've been thinking about starting.
"ENTER ME PLEASE" I have just started using beads in my tatting and have found the info you gave to be very interesting. We have a bead store here in town, but they have no knowledge of tatting. They have classes for making jewlery. I keep bringing my tatting in when I go for my jewlery findings (earrings). They see, quite interested in my tatting. They have lots of beads and I have purchased some - not knowing what I was going to do with them. Decided to use the beads in my earrings and pendants. So it was a hit or miss thing. Thanks for the info. I learned a lot from it.

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting such great information - it gives me the motivation to learn :)
"ENTER ME PLEASE"
ReplyDeleteI've only really used beads once...they were too large and very square, so probably not the best 'first beaded tatting experience' ever. :)
"ENTER ME PLEASE"
ReplyDeleteYour info, on the beads was really helpfull!!

ReplyDeleteI enjoy experimenting with all types of beads!
Certainly "ENTER ME PLEASE" to this drawing. Beads are so fun to use. I wish I had the patience to use it in shuttle tatting other than joins. I feel I waste a lot of my time re-winding the thread back and forth when I load the beads on the shuttle.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information. I have a hard time telling what size beads are and this will be very helpfull.
ReplyDelete"ENTER ME PLEASE"
ReplyDeleteI am new to tatting. I have just learned to needle tat and haven't quite figured out the shuttle tatting yet.
