I am starting an afghan, hubbie picked out the pattern, gave hubbie a couple choices and let him pick from there, and I am using up some yarn I have left over, browns and greens... here is the beginnings of it, and it is a cross hatch pattern.. It will be the size of a twin bed blanket when it is done, so it will be perfect for the couch or an extra blanket on my side of the bed, I get colder than he does at night :D
the pattern is an easy one, and can be found in almost any pattern book, but the book I let hubbie browse through to pick from is called "Basic Crochet Stitches" The Harmony Guides, presented by interweave press and edited by Erika Knight. Below are the chart and instructions from the book.

its nice to have a simple pattern for one of those lazy days where you don't really have to think about it, you get the flow and go. I'll definately have to use this to make a bedspread for my new place and my new bed. Great idea. *Muah*
ReplyDeletethe fabric is draping really nice, and I am using the "I love this yarn" brand which is super soft, it was left overs form other projects... it is really really soft, and the weave is close together, so it is a whole lot warmer than I thought it would be also. Very impressed with how it is coming along. I am thinking of doing another one in christmas colors and one specifically in my living room colors to leave out on the couch :D
