Knitting Away

I have been working on a new shawl... like I need another one, lmao, I have a bunch already, but I love making them and wearing them.  I have 3 I am sending off to a friend already, which is good, it gives me an excuse to make 3 new ones :D.

First, let me show you my helpers... and I really do use the term loosely..... LuLu and Bearly...  I love them and they love me, I think a little too much sometimes, they love me right out of my gourd sometimes....

If you have never seen an attention vampire, take a look, this is what they look like... let me dispel the myths...they are not active at night, they do go out in the day light, they stink but not like the undead, just like what ever they roll in that is dead, the don't like garlic, that part is true, and they  do like blood, if it is from a fresh piece of steak, but they will eat their veggies too, well, attention vampires will eat just about anything really, even a cup of coffee if not attended.  They also are quite sure they are adorable and feel everyone else believes this too.

Now, on to the Knitting.

I have a nice little lace book and I decided to make this nice big round piece that was shown as either a shawl or table topper. well, in stead of a table topper and a full round shawl folded in half, I am making it a 3/4 shawl and using my circular needles.
Here is the picture from the book:

You can see the first set of diamonds  and the ring around them making a panel before the wide set of diamond like lace starts, that is where I have just moved past , I am started on the big wide part on the top shown here.

There is the set of diamonds in that panel I was talking about

and here you can see I have started to work on the panel with the wide section of lacy diamonds on it.

I have well over 100 rows on it to go, so I will keep up my progress as I go.

That is all I have for now, hugs friends, hope you are all enjoying your arts, and keep up all the wonderful work :)

Happy Tatting! (knitting, sewing, painting, and everything else wonderful you are good at creating!)

  1. How beautiful! There's nothing like a knit lace shawl... nothing! I look forward to seeing your progress on this one!

I love lace knitting, but I haven't kept up with it. I do have a beautiful scarf that I started about three years ago. Maybe I'll get back to it when the humidity goes down.

  4. Beautiful pattern and shawl/tablecloth. I love lace knitting and nothing looks so nice as a lacey tablecloth or shawl.
I am also knitting one at the moment, but its been left for a few weeks while I get over my op.

  5. Wow! I'm so awed by knitted lace. I can't quite understand how it's done. Hmmm, maybe some day! It's looking beautiful! Can't wait to see how it progresses. (:
